The clouds were departing quickly this morning on the heels of the windy front that flew through the Raleigh area last night... still too dense to see the sun at sunrise proper, above, but the glow was visible at the horizon (better large on black). The last few clouds were on their way out when the sun finally made its appearance, below (also better LOB). Sweet... and very windy!

Sunrise 130129
A flow of moist air from the gulf brought summer-like skies... with a dense filtering haze at the horizon... to the Raleigh area this morning, seen above at sunrise proper (better large on black). The early twilight view, below, offered a colorful and satisfying glow at the horizon (also better LOB). With temps expected into the 70s, it may as well be summer. Sweet sunrise views!

In advance of our wintery mix, the Raleigh area was treated to a bona fide flamer during mid-twilight (better large on black). Never saw the sun, but we didn't really miss it, either! Sweet show!

Sunrise 130108
After a few very overcast mornings and a pair of cloud-free plain-Janes, the Raleigh area enjoyed its first "interesting" sunrise of the new year (one man's opinion, of course)... seen here in a decidedly urban view, from behind Starbucks in Cameron Village (and better large on black). The tighter view, below (again, better LOB), shows the sun is still coming up right behind the new SECU building... big fire behind, big tower crane in front. Sweet views... and a belated Happy New Year to all!
