The Raleigh area saw cloudy skies this morning, but there was a persistent and tantalizing gap out on the horizon... looking much like the type that allows illumination on the under side of such cloud cover to create a (rare) bona fide flamer. Persistent, yes, but in the end not able to transmit the sun's rays. This late twilight view offered as much color as we saw (better large on black)... and actually, not bad for a nonrise. Sweet enough!
