Somewhere out past the horizon there was a gap in the Raleigh area's cloud cover this morning... just enough for the sun's pre-dawn light to illuminate those clouds, yielding the new year's first bona fide flamer, above (and better large on black). The post-rise view, below (also better LOB), was very different but very pleasing. All in all... sweet sunrise!
